Yes its that time of year again, doing the usual comparison sites, has anybody got any other recommendations / know of any particularly good deals?

I recently insured with Locktons and I thought the overall package was excellent. The other one worth trying is Classicline.

It very much depends on the car. But for the older ones (for which 4200 + GS might count), try Footman James. I have a deal with them for 12 of my classics, including the QP IV. I added a 2008 911 to that policy today, so the cars don’t need to be particularly old. But newer things like my E-TRon, Range Rover, Volvo, etc are with other companies.

For my car I’m using Heritage/Norton insurance based in the Midlands. My car is 2003, they’ve gave me agreed value + breakdown cover for £368.

I'm with Cherished Vehicles - part of A plan I think - well under £300 for my 02 spyder with agreed value around £25k - SI have done an excellent, but costly over time, job bringing him up to standard so he's virtually like new. And they have been really quick sorting my cracked windscreen - so cannot grumble. The boss man has said they will sharpen up their pencil when it comes to insuring the S2000

Just renewed with AIB. Locktons were 50% more expensive albeit with some extras that I didn't want or need.

If you have a high net worth classic car policy with Footman James with at least one car at 150k plus you can throw in all the modern motors in as well at what i find is a dam good overall figure

interesting- cos they couldnt/wouldnt cover my windscreen. They suggested I try covering it with a bespoke policy. I havent found anyone who offers it...
Im paying more than you too....

Cherished have just got back to me with a quote:- £254, agreed value at no extra charge, £100 xs, which beats even all the comparison sites, and they were £900 xs, still waiting to hear from AIB, said they would ring back in 15 mins, that was 2 hours ago!

That's interesting re the windscreen - mine's just cracked and needs a replacement - no longer manufactured and the usual suspects do not have one. Cherished Vehicles did a call round too - now, if I can source one, probably used, I buy it and present them with the invoice which they will refund (I pay the £90 excess). Currently my black side is thinking the car is a right off.

It is a significant concern. Since moving to the countryside five years ago or so, I ve had to replace the screen on my T5 twice; and a barn door glass once. The way the roads are (not) maintained sees an awful lot higher incidence of projectiles getting tossed up at traffic...
I hope you get sorted....

I have Locktons for the race car and Admiral multi car for the rest which have always been reasonable in terms of annual premium

Cherished Vehicles turned up trumps with my windscreen - not cheap by any stretch (including removing the old one, fitting and VAT a four figure sum) and they negotiated the lot, less the standard £90 excess.
