Nobody came close to Locktons. £75 for Maserati UK is small price to pay. I won't b£gg#r around next year with AIB and other timewasters.
Renewed with Locktons.
Can't believe how easy it was and extent of the cover, it is under the skin with Aviva, who I actually insure my daily drivers on a multicar policy.
I'm astonished that myself and the Mrs are covered fully comp to drive any other motor vehicle not owned by a household member/not available for regular use.
Also anyone over the age of 35 with my permission can drive my car too fully comp.
Thanks for the recommendation!

Obi Wan has taught you well. But a Jedi you are not. I don't post on here much because of counter replies on the "yes BUT" or "my mates grandad did it far cheaper using his dentures to adjust the clutch setting"

This was unusual of me to pass a recommendation. I never follow anyone's recommendations either. My only go-to person is Marios and his team at Autoshield.

It might be a very very long time before I decide to offer advice or recommendations. You struck gold on this one.

Nobody comes close to Locktons as a total package. I might see you at a Maserati UK event?

I have joined, a requirement.
I did join when I first bought my car 11 years ago but didn't renew, because at the time there was nothing much happened up North, and most events appeared to be champagne garden parties at great expense.
We will see!

Unlike Porsche Club GB, there is no regional presence for Maserati Club UK. PCGB meets monthly in the North West and have outings, drives etc. It has a membership that sustains regional meetings. Not so MC UK. Membership is much much smaller.

But their national events are good and booked up very quickly. There is a Northern Lights Dinner which I enjoyed going to.

Get yourself round to a MC UK event. They are a nice friendly bunch and no snobbery whatsoever (unlike PCGB). And some of the members cars will bowl you over, and so knowledgeable.

Nobody will tell you "yes, but" or "the clutch readings can be obtained cheaper with his grandad's dentures".

You'll meet Marios socially at the events also. They are all friendly and very sociable.

I'll definitely be giving Locktons a call, if I decide to keep the Granturismo through next year.
For now, insuring the Saab will do. I'm pretty sure I was with Locktons years ago, for classics
and from memory, they were easy to deal with and very competitive. Hope what's below is useful
to someone.
So, last year was £220 with Tesco, Fully Comp & 5 yrs NCB. They offered £250 to renew.
I did the rounds of the comparison sites and a few other 'direct' insurers a week ago
and the cheapest quote via a comparison site was £220, also with Tesco.
I tried one of the comparison sites that I tried a week ago, Go.Compare and the quote
is now £202, with Tesco. Same input details as before, apart from another year of NCB.
Now though, I get my excess back if I have to claim. A promo offered by Go.Compare
Okay, what I've saved is small change. But shopping around repeated over the year, adds up.
To more small change. Or, a few bottles of drinkable wine. Not before driving obvs :conf1:
