Hi, Has anyone fitted the binnacle from a 2005 facelift (blue dials) into a 2002 as I’ve just done it and the Speedo doesn’t work and then remembered the signal comes from abs and mine has Bosch 5.3 and facelift has 5.7 so not sure if this is the problem or faulty speedo

Think you will just need the bridge can box to swap out, it’s different on facelift and GS. The box up above the accelerator with Digitek on it

Thanks Conaero
I did pull the binnacle back out last night and stripped it, noticed it had been played with, the needles had been removed and put back in the wrong place and pushed on to far so was catching the dial face and the gold weights in the plastic covers on the needles where in the wrong place so put binnacle back in and just need to take it for a run.

Back in the 80's it was hard to sell a car with a 100,000 miles but the same car with 60,000 flew out of the doors.

Hopefully they were just trying to clock through the front and haven’t caused any damage not knowing it’s easier to just pull the gauges out and do it at the back.
If the weather is good tomorrow will find out if they work

I have a spare set of clocks from a circa 2002 model if you need, not tested
Let me know if you need

Thank you very much but I have the original just always thought the original on the pre facelift is abit bland so fancied a change to facelift blue. Hopefully the Speedo will work and just the 2 asr warning lights will show as msp warnings.
I could always use the dial facing in mine but wanted to keep the original binnacle incase if I ever sell can put it back to oem.

Know why you mean the early ones are a bit plain.
Hope you get it sorted

A little update yes they will work and the only down side is asr will show as msp as long as someone hasn’t been playing around the the instruments. Only problem now is the mileage motor magnet is broken so all works except counting mileage

Back together and all working. Much prefer the blue on white dials

Did you swap the bridge can for the later one to match the clocks to get it working?
Looks much better
No the problem was the magnet rotor in the mileage motor had split so was jammed up.
Find I can see the led’s in the centre section between the dials now as in the original they are a 109491lot dimmer and with it being a spyder if top down and sun out couldn’t see if I was in sport or auto

Why would you not be in Sport? ;)

C
Ha , where I live roads are a little rough so in auto and sport off for first 5 miles, only in sport mode with auto off on decent roads, no point giving the car a hard time when I don’t need to.
