Hi,

Sorry for another thread but thought people might rightly ignore the Brighton request.

I have got the car booked in at HR Owen for a "Health Check" this is a bit far away and costs £200 inc. It is currently unclear what is included in this, but I am hoping that a SD2 diagnostic computer check is done and the car is put on ramps and visually inspected. Not sure about a road test not sure if it is put on ramps. Thing is I'm neither sure about the diagnostic check.

I've found these guys as well: http://www.joemacari.com/

They offer a £600 fully comprehensive check by a race engineer for 3 hours. To be honest, I've no doubt it would be an amazing check but when compared with the value of the car it is too high.
They also offer a £360 check which is for 2 hours with a "normal" technician, it includes doing SD2 diagnostic computer check on gearbox/clutch etc. They will also do a visual inspection and get the car on ramps and check the play in the suspension but that is all, no road test.

Again, it's pricey.

Any thoughts on the above? Or any other recommendations.

Many thanks
R

Joe Macari are very well respected, I believe. I've never used them but having cycled past their old place in Wandsworth, they certainly get some top end tackle in there.

How about Autoficcina? They're just along the M3, might be worth a call? I'm guessing you're looking at a car with Nuvola? Again, I've never used them, but they have a good reputation.

Clarify with HR what they will do...then say JM will do the same for their price, ask them to price match, am not sure if a road test is hugely beneficial and you can do this yourself to a degree

Autofficina are further away but might actually be quicker to get to than HR Owen, so I'll give them a ring

Will try the price match thing - Autofficina are going to give me a ring back. They sounded much more sensible about the whole thing so I'm hoping cost-wise they're ok and they have the time.

Think I'm going to go with Autofficina at £200. Cheerse Guys.

Macari is very expensive, but I appreciate it is a registered maserati service centre.

Autofficina have a good reputation so you should find out what you need to. All the best with it.

I'm there this Saturday morning - like most Saturdays.
Incredibly knowledgeable group of guys and have only received faultless customer service.

What are you bringing down and what time? I will look out for you and say hi.
