Can anyone recommend an independent specialist to take my GTS to get serviced (its now due its 4th - so major one) and have read on various forums that a good specialist will be just as good as the main dealer with same results.

Nothing north of the Central belt in Scotland that I'm aware of so its Edinburgh / Glasgow main dealers. Best to chose a good independant further south.

Autoshield in Manchester, Emblem Sports Cars in Poole.
Oh yes, go and get yourself "The Emblem List" for your car! Always exciting!

I've had great service from Emblem, as have many on here, although now I use Christian Lewis who have given me even better service (didn't think that possible) as they're 30 miles away instead of 100 (but Bedford is probably a bit out of your way on that long route.

Good morning and thank you for all of your recommendations here. Will get in contact with Emblem as they are within an hour of my business in Dorset.
Keep you posted. What should I expect to be paying for a 4th major service?

Im in north of Scotland but travel between here and Dorset with work regularly - so happy to consider various locations
Dorset is the key location, Emblem Sportscars, Poole always provided the best experience ever, their advice, their work, their attitude - second to none IMO

Just heard from them - given me a cost of £1,895 + VAT - which i have to say seems very top heavy
Ask them for a breakdown of what that covers to ensure you are like for like. Emblems hourly rate is on the high side for an independent but is still less than Main Dealers

Have made request for this to Emblem - so will be able to see like for like once they come back to me on this.
Had a price of £2950 for this service from Greypaul Edinburgh (my nearest main dealer):

The 4th Service on the GranTurismo is a major one and covers the following items. Replacement/change of:

Engine oil
Oil filter
Air filter
Pollen filter
Charcoal filter
Brake fluid
Water pump belt
A/C compressor belt
Power steering fluid
Coolant
4 lambda probes (Exhaust O2 sensors)

There is also a 4 wheel geometery check and adjustment due at this service.

The total cost for this service is £2950 inc all parts, oils, labour and VAT

Thank you all for your comments/help.

@Dickiegrace - intrigued as to what "The Emblem List" is???

It will go something like this.

Non OEM wiper blades fitted.
Leather lifting on interior console
1 and R buttons worn
Front bushes worn
Rear discs worn
Tyres close to legal limit
Diff whining
Clutch worn to 80%

And many more horrors :D

My 3200 had 89 remarks.. as Eb Says see it as a challenge but be prepared to collapse.
