Once is unfortunate as a business, 2 is careless.....3 seems to me to be unforgiveable!

I would second the recommendation for Autofficina in Chessington. I took my 4200 to them just after I bought it asking them to 'take a look and see if it was ok'. Now you might say I should have done this before I bought it, but where's the fun in that? Either way they were very happy to take her in and give her a really thorough going over. I was fortunate in that they found nothing seriously wrong - a few little tweaks to do to her but that was all. Most importantly they were happy to do the inspection for free - no doubt because they knew there was a chance they'd be asked to fix anything they found, but also because (as they told me) they look to build a relationship with their customers and to keep them coming back. It certainly worked for me as I've spent a good amount with them since on servicing and fixing a few bits a pieces. I don't know if they'd do a FOC inspection on a car you'd not yet bought - but whether they charged or not I would certainly go with them every time.

Cheers,
Ben.
