There’s something in the paint on the body, dishwasher is still buggered and Boris has just cancelled my first week off work since the summer.

Some very neatly done plastic conduit there mate!

Dave

Wasn’t me but I knew the electrician was a good un when he said “woke up in the middle of the night thinking I’d put the outside plug in the wrong place”

That must be so frustrating... fisheyes is the terminology I believe and the run/streak will, I guess mean a rub down and repaint?

Yep. The “run” isn’t a run it’s the same as the fisheyes. There’s something on the surface or worse under the primer. I’ve been really careful; the lock on the back gate has been stiff for months as I’ve not dared even to get the WD40 off the shelf.

Did have to pop out before work and take the masking paper off, unfortunately Doug the fly didn’t make it

How many coats of clear?
Moz

4 wet coats on doors, roof, bonnet and 5 on the body as I knew it’d pick up more fluff/orange peel. The insides of the buttresses are a nightmare as you can’t reach them from any angle.

That's a lovely punchy colour and really suits the car. It'll be a reall head turner once finished. Full of admiration for your skill, perseverance and vision!
Eb

It’s a bit paler in real life. Thanks but I have to say the internet, forums, YouTube etc are a real boon nowadays. Bodywork isn’t my thing but to be able to watch a video etc is so helpful

On to brake calliper rebuild

And carb, someone (what’s the French equivalent of a Bubba) has bodged an insert into the stud hole for the air cleaner, tried to remove it and I just disintegrated so guess I’ll have to drill and tap it.

There was one part on the car that I didn’t think I’d need to do anything to, the brake calipers, which were recon prior to my buying the car. But they were weeping a bit sitting on the shelf so I thought I’d change the seals. And what do you know they’re all FUBAR, they’ve been shortblasted and attacked with a file. They’re probably the roughest bores I’ve ever seen in a brake component. So that’s another £500 wending it’s way Stateside. On a positive not I may have repaired the dishwasher!

Fucsake; who does that and thinks they have done a good job?

Is that all four corners? Do they have to be stock for the racing?
