These two piece rear seals give me the willies, I’m going to be worrying about whether it’ll leak for the next couple of months.

The SBC 400 has siamesed cylinders and the block and heads have steam holes drilled to help cooling. Many builders over here add them to 350's to make them run a little cooler on middle cylinders. One of the reasons Webers make more power is tuning for each cylinder, with a single carby, you have to set the mixture for the hottest running cylinders (rich) and give up some hp.
That'll be a no then......Crank is different too.
This block has an extra hole in between the centre bores to try and even the cooling out. Think it was standard on later Bow Tie blocks
