Block cleaned.

Core plugs installed, well kind of. Fluffed the rear cam one, which of course is the only one I’ve not got a spare.

And painted.

All good stuff, roller rockers w/ stud girdles, 4 bolt mains w/ ARP studs, guide plates, hardened push rods, with that rotating assemby, block and heads she should run very well.
Phil, I don't know what pic you posted, but what popped up on my computer is sickening. My eyes will never be the same

Picked up the crank from balancing today.

Dropped in and checked bearing to fillet radius clearance.
73220

Caps on and torqued
73222

And end float checked.
73221

These two piece rear seals give me the willies, I’m going to be worrying about whether it’ll leak for the next couple of months.

Cam in
73274

TDC centre set
73275

Check cam timing, when it seems a long way out it’s probably because a wankmonkey is measuring the exhaust lobe rather than inlet. Reset and 2 degrees advanced.
73276

Knocked the sprocket round to -2 and started again. 0.5 degree retarded. Jobs a good un.

nice work, how's your roll cage coming along

Haven’t checked this week. He got bogged down with getting his car into the paint shop last week after they pulled the date forward.

It’s quite nice having room in the garage. What’s the grease monkey equivalent of snow angels?

"wankmonkey" I've learned a new word.
What’s the grease monkey equivalent of snow angels?
Is that when you lie on the garage floor covered in kitty litter and flail about?
Block looks great, polished valley ( most cheap out and paint), light color to spot oil leaks, billet timing set, keep going...

Something like that

Didn’t like the timing chain to block clearance so removed the sprocket and masked everything and ground.
73306

Looks better
73307

Heads on temporarily to check for valve to piston clearance.
73308

All good
73314
73315

Heads back on with gaskets
73309
73310

And check lushrod length, the current ones are too long so cut and shut one to get the required length to test and will order some in the week.
73311

Oil pump on
73313

But pick up won’t fit.
