Nothing to do with tyres, more to do with the fact that the driver had no talent and no brains. Anyone with a modicum of sense drives within their ability and the conditions of the road. Imagine if a mum had been pushing a wheelchair with kid in it exactly where he crashed. He could be up for manslaughter right now.
No sympathy from me I'm afraid.
I tend to agree but it is easily done.

I'm on P-Zero's on all four corners and never lost the car even in sub-zero temps on the ****** concrete Dollymount Road in Dubs. Mind you I'm not your typical boy-racer, even only just discovered wheelspin...

I agree. Play stupid games...win stupid prizes. The driver is lucky he didn't kill someone.

Im conflicted, I do have the smallest amount of sympathy for the chap... and he was/is a dick, but im sure we have been there before...

I was at the Lancaster day in colchester last year... lots of people out to see the nice cars, its tempting to show of a bit, but one has to reign it in!
I fully admit to nailing the loud pedal and making the QP sing... but... i was facing the right way, in manual and a straight line, id taken all the people into account, the length of road in front of me and made sure that - as best i could predict, nothing bad would happen...

Whilst he may have done the same risk assessment, engaging Launch control, with a car that can hit dangerous speed in a few hundred feet and no limit on how fast it could go... that is asking for trouble... and it shows... he was travelling sideways faster than I was going forwards...

I was visiting my old stomping ground in the QP a few weeks ago (Annan, D&G), and razzing round the back lanes round Creca etc, roads I knew well but this Audi driver decided to tailgate me presumably to show me what a great driver he was.

I hate all this, even when car is parked up outside friends or at the shop, some knob in a Golf with a bean-can exhaust will razz past full revs in some sort of protest....

Even in the village were I live it happens, there's a mini-roundabout, I make some sort of attempt at actually going round it, but some knob last Friday decided to overtake me on it by going straight through it on the right hand side. Bell end, white Golf, lowered, seen it before, thump thump music in it, two lads inside with caps....

I think to use launch control in a Huracan Performante, it has to be in 'Corsa' mode, which puts most of the power to the back wheels and seriously throttles back the driver assists to almost nothing, as well as making it completely manual shift... Combined with cold P-Zero's on a narrow bumpy street it was a disaster waiting to happen really.. it's just lucky nobody was hurt other than the owners wallet/pride.

Although with videos of this being all over the internet i'm sure their insurance company and the police will most likely make them learn their lesson !

Thinking about it, shouldn't the stability stuff have kept this from happening? Or might our intrepid Lambo pilot have turned it all off..?

Lots of people crash mid engined cars with the traction control on I would guess.

Then I shall stick to driving cars with the engine forward of the driver. Those new-fangled mid-engined cars sound like a bloody menace. Well, either that or the drivers are the menace.

For me, engine in the front, rear or four wheel drive, long wheelbase, no turbos, not too many gears............wait there that's what I've got.

Me either , his 20 seconds of LOOK AT ME didn't exactly go as planned but everybody is looking at him now , when the police see that footage I'd be very surprised if they didn't prosecute for dangerous driving

I think there is a case for not selling these cars to people without explaining that ego and wallet doesnt pass as talent...
Could have been much much worse...! :(

Given the amount of cameras I’m surprised there isn’t a follow up with the police in attendance. You’d think they’d have been called out.
