How to: Outside Temp Sensor Replacement

Thanks - I'm satisfied my connector is now OK and not a potential culprit, given that my fan was intermittent until I had the connecting block examined.

Forgive my total ignorance, all the parts diagrams suggest the above OAT sensor part is on the drivers side, yet the how-to above seems to be for the passenger side... perhaps the instructions were from a European car?

Instructions were from a US car, and yes the temp sensor is always on the driver's side mirror (so LHS for US and European spec cars and RHS for UK and Australasian) cars which does seem a perverse thing to do but perhaps makes things easier in terms of the wiring from the mirror to the centre console given the passenger side has the glove box and airbag to naviagte.

And @Twinspark confirmed on maseratilife that it's the same sensor used in the Alfa Romeo 156 and 166 and it's pretty cheap. I have not done this, but maybe the Alfa plug is not the same and you will need to splice the wires?
