Thanks Newton, all stripped from the car boxed & ready to go.

Absolutely recommend them
First class service and excellent turnround - took me a face value and just sent me a pair on the promise I would send mine, which of course I did

I decided to be proactive today and change the rear discs with the new ones I picked up off MAF260 a few months ago.

Mark, another satisfied customer here... top notch discs and your How To helped get the job done

I managed to get it done in 4 hours and I took my time cleaning and copper greasing relevant surfaces... As expected the old discs were ruined especially on the inside, on the O/S the inner pad was stuck in the slider which made the scoring a lot worse. I did not change the old pads which are Apec's as they had been changed fairly recently but as the fronts will need doing in a few thousand miles I will probably change all 4 corners to EBC Redstuff...

Glad to report that the shoes have a bit of life left in them but I did notice that my brake fluid reservoir's cap is broken, looks like it has gone brittle and then over tightened so I will be calling Maranello in the morning I assume it will be a cheap part...

You may want to change the fluid if the top has been cracked as the fluid absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and looses its efficiency.

That's a good point safrane, I will get it sorted. I have the replacement cap on order £13.19+VAT from Maranello Egham... it should come in from Italy at the end of the week.

Wow! Those are the worst condition discs I've seen. I'm amazed you could stop at all. Glad to see another member happy with the SM discs fitted - you'll definitely notice the difference.

Fortunately they weren't all as bad as that but the discs had ruined the surface of the brake pads - can't wait to get her back to put them through their paces - would you recommend a running in period ?

Mine arrived back today, re-painted & like new. Top service! Just to find the time to fit them now.
Should have enough time for MOT before LeMans (if the airbag light will re-set!)

The job started as replacing discs & pads, New SMF discs all round & Yellow stuff pads (Thanks Mark), but the job escalated into new shoes as well, only posted for advice on replacement shoe options. Thanks to Newtons top advice, job done! Should anyone else fall foul of the same problem whilst changing Discs and pads...original thread topic, the advice is here for all. :)

Hello, does anybody know where I can get hold of a new set of discs for a 2005 4200 coupe, I am presuming that the group buy on this post have all been taken, but you never know somebody may have dropped out. Did not think that I needed any till it failed the MOT, its done less than 40000miles, my old Volvo managed to get to 140000 miles

my fronts are at 29.04mm, so guess they need replacing, previous owner had them skimmed, so no noticeable wear ridges.

Just saw these - seems like a good price and quality for pads? In stock.

is there a reason why the m13's that hold the rotors on are offsett slightly? Would have thought they'd be diametrically opposed

Because there is wheel bolt hole opposite to those rotor holding bolts on 5*xxx bolt patterns?
