its great to hear about these cars doing over 100,000 easy and hearing these engines are great...

just a question: why when the engines are near of over 50,000 miles they are seen as worth alot less ?

Owners on here saying anything that is used is worthless and the rarely used ones with low mileage are the ones worth the money.
I tend to disagree.

The only real issue is going to be trying to sell it on really - we all know they are well built and pretty reliable, but the rest of the folk out there think they are the old stereotypical temperamental unreliable, expensive, time bomb Italian cars. The recent Pistonheads 'Brave Pill' article is the perfect example of this. I don't imagine we'd see a brave pill article for a similar aged 911, despite the fact that they have a habit of throwing very large bills.

Unfortunately, that stigma comes out everywhere, even on this forum, where folk joke about them being worthless over 70k etc.
It's a real shame, these are such lovely vehicles.

agree with you both - sad really. also shame the time bomb Italian cars don't seem to affect the price of the sister Ferrari cars as much, maybe it's more to do with the support from the company....
either way I love these cars and you can't buy anything with these looks, grin factor for these sort or prices - so for me I'm glad I can afford a Maserati - may all Mas engines continue to live on...

Ferraris are the same, look at 360s, one with 20k miles will be £10,000 more than one on 60k miles.

My 4200 GT over 100k miles. These engines are easily good for it. Like anything just keep them serviced.

Those engines will do 200k if they are regularly serviced, and parts changed when needed . Just hope your main oil pipe nut or oil pump does n't go and ruin it .

Keep an eye out for a weeping water pump which is part of the oil pump for the dry sump system.
A £1500 part and not a 5 minutes repair either.
