....does it take to change a battery?
Answer- apparently three. One to do the job, one to dispense advice and support, and one to hold the fire extinguisher!

They are a bunch of wind up merchants. They knew I was working a few yards away and soon after they started the job the third one came galloping around the side of the workshop brandishing the fire extinguisher yelling "oh no! this isn't going well!" Buggers, they are always teasing me about my car. Anyway, (unbelievably!) said battery was installed and it seems she had no idea she'd been interfered with as there was no dramas with lights or anything. I hadn't realised there had been such a dip in turnover speed as there was with the old battery compared to the new one.
I shall get them back very soon!

It took three to mot my old Cerbera, one to hold revs, one to blow airline through the radiator, and one to put the probe in the Fiesta parked next to it lol

That's why the MOT rules changed, they have to plug a dongle into the OBD port now so the online system knows the correct car is being tested.dial a MOT is over, until somebody who does phone repairs finds a way round it

That hasn’t happened on any MOTs I have had done. Are you sure?

My last 2 mots have had it plugged in for the emissions test Mercedes in june and the range rover in april I think it was

Just had a look , it seems it's an add on dongle that gives more information but not compulsory so they can still use the probe up the dummy pass car

Not sure about the OBD port but I think some test machines have a magnet that can be stuck on the engine block to detect RPM, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and isn't compulsory. Either way, OBD isn't fitted to all cars - my Lotus included since this seems to be a trend in this thread :D
