How bad are Diesel Massers?

Hi Keith thanks for the welcome. I noticed you did not mention maserati's top engines the f154 twin turbo v8 or the 4.7 na v8 which are both 100% made by Ferrari. People buy Maserati for the Ferrari engine sound, and looks. Maserati has its own unique sound. Its almost a budget Ferrari. I think it defeats the purpose to buy a diesel Maserati, especially when the v6 can get 35mpg. I suggest you watch the "how its made video for the quattroporte, you'll see the engine is a aluminium block even for the base v6 and completely assembled by Ferrari. But perhaps the base power v6 block could be from Chrysler. I suggest you stop putting down these legendary engines.

Firstly you don't mention what car you have, I presume a Maserati with a petrol engine.
Secondly, you failed to fully read my response, otherwise you would have noticed that the much fabled link with Ferrari will be coming to an end. As you have already stated in your opinion people buy Maserati due to its Ferrari sourced engine sound. That sound is built in at manufacturer, and if you care to do your research you will discover the exhaust note of the diesel engine when in Sport mode, whilst electronically produced,
is synthesized to resemble the sound of the V8 4.7. That work was carried out by Ferrari as was some of the diesel engine development. Furthermore it's that engine configuration which brought myself and the bulk of other owners to the brand to allow the company to remain in existence.
So to revisit your last post, as you are seemingly an expert on Maserati marketing and sales, you explain the unique selling proposition is based on:-
Looks - so it doesn't matter what engine is under the bonnet, they all look the same.
Ferrari sound - well as I say even the the exhaust sound of the diesel is in part Ferrari produced.
So surely by your own admission even those 'terrible' diesel Maserati's meet the hallowed MC12 criteria of ownership.
In conclusion, whilst just my opinion of course, when joining and posting on a new forum, it might be a good idea not to come across overly aggressive and arrogant. In your original post you say 'we get it' - who on earth is this 'we' your referring to?
Still given what Ferrari say about future engine supply, by your own criteria you will surely look elsewhere for your future car, and will as a result want share your opinions with another brand of owners forum.

Keith" synthesized to resemble the sound of the V8 4.7" It does not matter it sounds terrible like a truck. I've listen to it. Your comments were surely going to get a reaction eventually. Your insulting the flagship owners/petrol owners saying **** like this "prehistoric V8 or laughably out of date V6 petrol units that are woefully out if date and in a couple of years obsolete." " I would imagine you could pick up a V6 petrol model cheaper. After all the engine is woefully out of date and inefficient - just look at the new gen V6 engines coming from Korea for example. The block is (I believe an Iron lump) manufactured in the U.S by Chrysler, shipped to Ferarri for assembly as they have the facilities to do that, not to be confused with one of the proper hand fettled engines used in one of their supercars. In fact when owners say they have a V6 Ferarri manufactured engine in their Ghibli or Quartroporte, I am reminded of the first Seat Ibiza which proudly proclaimed it had an engine designed by Porsche." You should read up on the F154 the v8 twin turbo and not put current petrol owners of Quattroporte down. The f154 Quattroporte GTS is the flagship car in the maserati fleet, followed closely by the mc stradale.
You own a Ghibli diesel , possible the worst maserati to own in the present and you have many delusional opinions about it. Ferrari cuts ties in 2022 the F154 and F136 will go down as more legendary.

This is all getting a bit Pistonheads. Everyone has their views, and we all like Maserati. Let’s leave it there.
