Just had something similar I’m my runaround old jag and sometimes the motors that drive the vent outflows stick. So you get really hot air. The cure was turn the temp to min, up to max, back to min, then cycle thru vents to screen, vents to floor. Basically working all the combinations. And magically it worked. Worth a try.

You can do a reset on the heating system which may help

With the ignition off, turn the left hand rotary knob to full cold, the middle and right hand rotary knobs to Auto, press the recirc and econ buttons together and whilst still pressed, turn the ignition on. Keep them pressed until the green lights start flashing then release. When the lights stop flashing the reset is complete.

This may also throw a code which will help

Also worth a battery reset and then after re-connecting battery leave ignition on for 2 minutes to allow the heater system to reset. There is a procedure on here somewhere.

Do you get cold air from anywhere at all? I assume it is not just a case of ac needing a recharge?

Thanks so much for that. I will give it a go tonight. I get cold air from the the car as I had regas not long ago but the heat coming from the foot area is uncomfortable.
