Sophia Florsch fractured spine but if that is all she is extremely lucky girl considering that impact.

Tch; women drivers. She should be at home doing the cooking and washing up.

You're a bad man, Mr D.

Truly horrific crash and extraordinary that the injuries weren't equally horrific.

Doesnt look like she tangled with anyone leading up to the corner must have been a mechanical or tyre failure to bring the car around like that while going full pelt.

Wish her a speedy recovery back into the race seat

That’s so strange to lose it like that. She was a passenger the entire time. Something must have broken.

Hope she’s back at it soon. Teenagers bouncy back pretty quick.

According to what I’ve pieced together, a yellow flag was shown in error on the straight. Car in front of her slammed the anchors on, she clipped the rear wheel and lost control - all before the braking area. She went through the speed trap at the end of the straight at 270km/h.

One of the marshals has a face/jaw/chest injuries, the other driver has lumbar injury and a photographer has a lacerated spleen.

Not much you can do if the car in front brakes unexpectedly - they don't have brake lights!

Had a similar experience in a Vee (obviously much slower) back in 1969. Went over the other car, and did 2 end-for-ends, and a few rolls, before ending up upside-down. Car was a wreck, but I survived with minor damage. I'm still here...;)

She ended up in the Photographers bunker. The car slams into the corrugated iron facade and then she is slung into the bunker. Mental....

This is very similar to an accident in the first race of Formula E, an out of control car was propelled upwards by the kerbs on the corner. If there were no kerbs, she would have stayed on the ground and into the barrier. No doubt suffering serious deceleration injuries consistent of hitting the airfence but a lot less risk to people on the 'safe' side of the fence.

Glad that she survived the crash and wish her a speedy recovery.

This is the Formula E accident i was referring to, a lot slower but similar result of hitting the kerbs from the 'wrong' angle.

Unbelievable that people would keep filming, really.
Not in this day and age apparently.
Seem to recall one of the London Bridge atrocities where there were injured and dying lying on the ground and saw a woman run over to one victim, and I assumed was going to help, and took out her phone and photographed/videoed the poor soul on the ground and then walked away.
Too many people looking for their 5 minutes of fame at any price or do they see life as just a video game?
