Bit like Maserati then ;)

“He’s going for 1st place”

Indeed, however Maserati have made some much more impressive stuff than an Opel that won the BTCC with a crazy driver. He's a nice guy actually, we see him around the track scene in Scotland regularly. As Sparts says, who would really miss them?

I was only joking.

I walked past a Vauxhall dealers in Crewe the other day, they make a bunch of cars I didnt even know existed. They even make a Viva again, ‘cause they were so good first time around!

Very sad about the Aussie car industry but it's a brilliant example about how tariffs eventually catch up with you as they do nothing to reward innovation and new product development.

I've got an interesting tale about Vauxhall, probs an urban myth but still...

The Russian word for Railway Station is 'Voksal' pronounced 'Vagzal' and the story is Tsar Peter the Something came to England to see the great Victorain strides and was shown the early railway station at Vauxhall Station in London. Vauxhall -> Voksal? So in Russia that became the word for Railway station as it was thought that Vauxhall meant Railway station.

Probs ********....

It’s wasnt the Tsar but the rest is true.

Similar to why the Metro in Paris is called the Metropolitan. Named after the Metropolitan Line on the London Underground
