They appear to set off in the direction they are facing when approached by a car. Rarely do they turn about in my experience so I either drive straight on or swerve away from what their direction I guess they will be heading.
Driving back from Aberdeen many years ago in a hire car we hit a cow! The **** came right through the windscreen. No other damage and the police allowed us to drive home 300 odd miles. Bloomin' freezing!
U hit a cow?
Pull the udder one.

Bugger!

I once got a moorhen stuck between the grill and the rad on my old Disco. The sod must only just have squeezed between the slats which I hit him. It was a devil of a job to get him out again, but he trotted off happily enough when I eventually did.

Stopping on a quiet country road to 'tug the moorhen' is not as much fun as it might at first sound, by the way.

Silly bu&&er. Yome jus pokin fun cos oi'm a pleasant ......

Don't know how I missed this. Well I do. It was dark by the time I'd stopped at home, inspected and washed off the spilt fluid inside the engine. I'm sure that I looked all along the front underneath. Bit of a shock this morning.
Not looked 'til Dan picked her up today, not wanting to burst into tears.
Outer grill, inner mesh, fluid cooler?

No. I don't eat pheasant.
Sigh.

Hit a badger in the SZ once took all the front bumper out, rang the garage next morning to find out if there was any further damage to be told they don't know yet as the mechanic is pulling dead badger from out of the prop shaft ;)

(sniggers schoolboyishly) You got to shaft a badger? A rare thing these days with everything being shaved!
