Just popped over to Historics auction viewing day this afternoon to have a look at a couple of other motors I'm keen on and I did checkout the spyder and it seems a very tidy motor on top (bodywork is superb) and underside as is engine bay, could be worth a punt for anyone interested in one of these

guided at 9-12k, generally the reserves are set at the lower figure but if the seller is motivated it could end up selling for far less, all depends who's there at the time

An almost identical looking 2.5 ltr sold on eBay yesterday for STG 5,200. 70k miles, manual, low owners.

That was either a bargain or a bit of a pig at that price and from experience even the worst of cars can look nice in a photo when in reality it's a basket case, the historics car sold for 15k with the commission, more than I thought it would achieve but it was genuinely a nice car and not hiding anything nasty, the coachwork was absolutely stunning

Not many cars selling for above estimate so this one sold well. This model is clearly in demand as Historics had a fairly nasty white with blue one in the summer that sold for £9k or so.

I didn't go to see it. It was in Belfast. But, given what I was told about its ownership, I honestly believe that it was a bargain. I was going to buy it, but some very soft Spyder prices recently, made me decide against. I believe the location was against it. It was an early version obviously. I'll know it in an instant, if I see it again, so it'll be interesting to see if it comes to the GB market at a higher price.
