Hi Guys

Do any of you know how in to get to the high level brake light (ie the one in the rear window)?
It's not that I have a problem with the light, only there are a number of dead flies lying in the bottom of the light and I can't vac them out!
Not the end of the world but it's one of those real annoying bits that I would like to get sorted.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks Loz. In the handbook it just says take to nearest Maserati Agent!! Which means most of the rear end of the car probably has to come off, not unlike changing the side lamp bulb in the front where most of the front end has to come off!!

Same too - every time I walk to the back of the car I see the layer of dust and a couple of flies! Would love to know how to get to it?!

nfm - nothing was standard, I can just see the options list now, Dead Fly £500 each, extra layer of dust £250, annoying rattle £priceless......
The rad brush mught be away if it means not having to take the car apart.

As i thought guys its not rocket science just back from H R Owens they made a brilliant job by the way of the windscreen well pleased

Right back down to fly removal pull down the armrest reveals 4 x 10mm bolts that enables back seats to be pulled forward which exposes more 10mm bolts to enable pacel shelf to be lifted , also inside the boot under the upper braking light just remove part of the seal and the carpet to reveal the light fixing screws

thats what they told me i'll be at it at the weekend on my two

hope that helps regards loz

:alan4: There's no flies on me :alan4:

Thanks to Loz and everyone else on this post, I have done the deed and pulled my car apart and removed two dead flies and polished the rear window and the rear shelf properly.
And here's how it goes:

1. Pull down rear arm rest

2. Pull the leather cover firmly from the top to release a single clip that holds it in place
back2.JPG

3. This reveals the four 15mm bolts which take some moving (the bottom two are just out of frame)!
Once the four bolts are out, simply pull forward on the seat back and it will come out.

4. Undo the four (two each side) 10mm bolts just in front of the rear speaker.

5. Remove the speaker wires from each side and the rear park assist which is located next to the drivers side speakert.

6.Pull the boot lining at the top away by popping out the four plastic clips to find 3 screws. One in the centre and one each side of the high level brake light.

7. Carefully remove the rear shelf by pulling forward, be warned not to pull too far as you need to reach under the shelf and disconnect the high level brake light wires and not to pull the sound proofing material away.

8. If you want to get into the high level unit to replace a bulb, you will need to unscrew the four screws for the underside of the shelf

9. Clean out flies etc and simply refit in reverse order as they say!

While I was in there, here is a picture of the F1 relay:

And the fuel cover release:

Sorry this is such a long post, but I wanted to show as many steps as I could. I hope it helps with anyone wanting to get in there!!

Knuckle rating - soft no blood and only one swear word needed.
