It's cheap!
Being a first generation 'classico' check when in sport mode the engine blips when down shifting through the box.
If it doesn't, the gearbox ecu has been flashed to the only 'upgrade' firmware available on the gearbox ecu fitted to the first generation. Unfortunately it wasn't an 'upgrade' and can't be returned to the best, original firmware, with downshift blips.

It's a lot of car for the money and my all time favourite was my first Classico.
Many will think the interior is a bit Boogie Nights but I like that.
A good inspection and check the history.
Welcome along and Bon Chance from France.

Thanks. Excuse my ignorance but would that be a problem?
I saw three 4200 go at auction today all for silly money £7.2, £7.6 and £8.6. Just don't know what to pay just now and the one in the link had a new clutch 2 years ago.

Can't see any mention of service history, what's the clutch wear like? Get it inspected by a reputable specialist, could save you a fortune in the long run,

Thanks Phil, agree about the interior. Better than black on black though. I had a black on black GTi and it was like sitting in a coal bunker.
A nice part of the country you are in.

The vendor says full service history and clutch done two years ago.

It's still worth verifying the history and an inspection though by someone who knows the marque.

It is kind of cheap until you see what people are slinging them for at auction..Still alot of car for the money. McGrath will give you a decent steer with a PPI.
It is a good spec. Check the "full service history"...McGrath will shed light on the truth of this claim too...
That interior...God no ! At the end of the day, its just another CC 4200. There'll be others..
I couldnt see myself in a car with red leather either- a couple viewings of grey/black motors soon cured of me that preconceived notion..... If you love it, all the better//!

FSH or a couple of stamps in a book?

FSH should be a service every year and at every 12k miles regardless of the car being used lightly...I will bet a gallon of Suoer Unleaded it's not per book.

The truth about that though is that cars with little use really don’t benefit from such strict adherence to the book...and with resale values what they are, it can’t make any real world fiscal sense....
McGrath have schedule tailored to cars that see little use (4209\GS that I know of) and to my mind, it’s foolishness to ignore the pragmatic good sense that it represents....

Seems well priced. Never seen an interior combo like that before and maybe a little odd. Not my cup of tea the interior but worth a look if you can live with the interior and get a PPI of course.

You must be fairly local to me. I'm Bell Bar nr Welham Green/Brookmans Park.
Hi, not far. I'm in Bedford. I saw a manual 3200 today that just happens to be down the road, not for sale, but even keener to enter the mark now. A lovely green one on Gumtree (£14250) but the reg doesn't come up on DVLA. Maybe on a private plate.

Ah, OK....maybe not as close as I thought then. Zep is your way I think and Scaf Berko way.

I used to use McGrath and had no problems with them. Paul was very good with my car. Just one year they messed me around and I've never been back since. Been to see Aldous @ AV every year since.

You driven a 3200? Very different drive and ownership proposition to a 4200.
