HR Owen would be the obvious, but expensive solution.

McGrath are an hour away, 45 mins by train from St Pancras, they will always deal with a low-loader emergency regardless of how busy they are. http://www.mcgrathmaserati.co.uk

Nareman of http://www.nuvolalondon.com is a helpful bloke, his sales place is in Westfield Shepherds Bush, I don't know where he gets his servicing done but it can't be far. Might be worth a phone call.

Good luck.

Thanks all
Decided just to get it send down to Emblem who look after the car. Basically I'm going to buy one of those jump starter thingys (but big enough for the QP) as it would have saved a heap of grief as the car is a pain in the derriere without power! - Hand brake on, Gear in Park, key stuck in ignition, Doors don't open etc etc...

West London or west of London. Your geography is a bit out...Emblem are in Poole...

In Dorset?

Yes I highly recommend them...

Better the devil you know and if it's on an AA low loader you might as well bus it somewhere you know!

Looking behind the sofa at the moment to prepare for the inevitable. I wonder if crowd funding might be the solution?

I presume it was at least parked?

My Alfa 156 Selespeed let me down a few times where it stalled in gear and refused to restart because it was in gear. The only way to reset it was a fifteen minute battery reset. The first time it did this to me was in the middle of Britannia Junction in Camden in the busiest part of Saturday morning. The traffic jam I caused must have made LBC. Those fifteen minutes were very long as countless 'helpful' passers-by offered to push it to one side and were incredulous when I explained it couldn't be pushed.

I wish there was a mechanical over ride to get the Duo-Select into neutral. Even if it meant crawling under the car to reach it. Hmm, that might be a security risk, it could be a release in the boot.

A new battery plus a few new Fiat interweb updates.. and you'll be sorted!

Yes I was very lucky to find a quiet spot with a bit of space to park up. I fear that it's the alternator as I drove for an hour before it all went Pete Tong! Perhaps it's just a loose wire.....
Power steering failure, ABS failure,CEL, etc etc! Just what you need in rush hour in central London!
Safely now at Emblem so will know in the next few days what the damage is. Every time I think that I'd like to spend a bit on the cosmetics, something more pressing comes along.
