Hi there

Great forum by the way. My dad and I are looking for a good 4200. We are quite mechanically savvy, but knowing what these cars are like, we want a good one from the outset.

We have been looking for a while at 4200's and fond these two of recent:
Are they known? Or anybody have any useful comments on them. Any advise welcome?

Or if anyone can suggest a nice known 4200??! Thanks in advance.

Hi Strike,

The first car has been spoken about before on here and I am pretty sure someone was going to look at it so they may well be along with some info. Not sure about the 2nd.

Car 1 has been discussed on here, it's not that far from me but unfortunately I am away with work and holiday from Tuesday.

I have spoken to the owner of car 1. Very knowledge able and seemed very genuine. Talked about the car warts n all. Was moving on as his new company car is a Mercedes v8. You should be able to work out which f1 team he is in now.
For some" think it was the issue around using terry keys" etc.
there is a thread on here about the car somewhere. Not really looked I into 2nd one so can't comment.

1st one seems looked after and decent value. The 2nd is ultra low mileage with not a huge premium against it for this which is good. Not sure this low mileage though is such a good thing though & maybe others more informed could comment. In my opinion any modern car is worse for periods of lay up with no use. With 18k miles over 12 years that is only an average 1.5k p.a. which I don't think is enough often use. Looks a nice though with decent spec Auditorium 200 etc. But killer for me is black interior. Personally not a fan on 4200's with black leather.
Can't see the 1st one would be a bad buy as seems though it won't need much spent for a couple years as most stuff replaced.

I'll second that , I know the car well and the member , it's been truly looked after well with good history. You will struggle to find better .
