Failed OSR bearing meant replacement. Few months later had ABS sensor fault on my OSF during MOT so another bearing / ABS sensor replaced. Also had alternator replaced in the last 18months.
The faults might still be battery / voltage related. Remove battery and get it on a decent charger (CTEK 5.0). While it is out short the battery terminals together, which is supposed to drain all residual charge. The fully charged battery voltage must be over 13v when the car is running.

Do not do this!!!!!!
Unless you fancy an explosion or fire or something similarly unpleasant.

I think he meant the battery connections to the car. I've heard this. Disconnect battery. Connect positive connection of car to ground of car

This is meant to eliminate any residual current. Whatever that is

Have done it more times than I care to remember with no battery in the car.

If that's the case, that's fine ....phew. He actually wrote 'battery terminals' so thought it best to say something.

Yes, indeed. It would be bad......

Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

I really appreciate the suggestions and advice from everyone.

I will short the terminals - nothing ventured nothing gained as they say ( as it’s about the only thing I have not tried) and see if the new battery has held its charge on Saturday and go from there.

There is a decent motor factor close by so I can get a replacement on Saturday if needs be.

If it’s anything other than the battery Matt will have to sort it

I had exactly the same problem 2 years ago on my 2009 QP 4.7S. I replaced the battery but the lights still stayed on. It turned out to be a faulty front left ABS sensor. Cost me just over £1k to have it fixed!.The sensor is embedded in the hub and you cant extract it so it's a whole new hub at £637 plus VAT plus installation.

Very likely this from my experience. MSP, Suspension, ABS and EPB. If EML and gearbox lights are off, then a wheel sensor 9/10. They go on cars seldom used.

... and on cars used a lot, and then left for a bit.

Quick question, when fitting ctek charger
, or similar, do you disconnect the battery via the isolator to protect the system?

Nope

On the GT I used the 12v socket in the boot. On the 4200 I had a lead permanently connected to the battery terminals

Get the ABS system tested ASAP. I spent ages on the same wild goose chase thinking it was the battery, but it ended up not being the problem.
