HELP ! Can’t clear Multiple dash warnings

Since my battery went flat and despite trying full ctec regeneration and charge and subsequently fitting new Excide battery, many faults have remained so any suggestions would be most welcome.

Dale has been round and cleared then on his machine (the ones listed were all related to low charge) so we expected and over night reset and the fresh battery would see the end of them, but sadly this has not been the case and most remain.

When Dale was here the ABS pump was chugging when the ignition was on, this has cleared itself now (after a short drive yesterdaybut to add to my woes the car would not go beyond 2nd gear.

Also EPB was not working but this has cleared itself and although it’s off by default at the moment it does allow me to turn it on and off (see video).

I have got the car booked in with Matt in February for some unrelated work but at this rate it will be taken there on the low loader and his team will have the fu a bd games of tracing this problem.

the new battery was reading 12.5 v which Dales says should be fine, but I have given it a charge anyway and it was over 13v when I took this video.

Help !!

(the boot was open by the way, that’s not a fault)

I assume Dale has checked this, but ABS sensor fault could do a lot of that. Boot obviously not.

Nope - he didn't check for that.

the boot is not a fault (it was open).

Frustrating as car was faultless till the battery went flat !

I actually had a faulty new Exide battery this year, spent ages chasing my tail. But it was obvious when I disconnected it and left it for a week that it couldn’t hold its charge.

Do you know what the fault codes are? As C said there are some components that can fail and cause all those faults. Steering angle sensor will fault ABS, TC and suspension all together for example.

I have ctech- I even charged the new one just to be sure - and have left it on trickle.

Happy to invest another one but which one and from where I wonder?
I'd thought that you would have. I'm shamelessly plugging one that I'm selling on ebay.
I think your issues are battery related. 12.5V should be good enough but I take mine for a weekly spin to get the fluids flowing, seems to work.

I had exactly the same problem 2 years ago on my 2009 QP 4.7S. I replaced the battery but the lights still stayed on. It turned out to be a faulty front left ABS sensor. Cost me just over £1k to have it fixed!.The sensor is embedded in the hub and you cant extract it so it's a whole new hub at £637 plus VAT plus installation.

I will take it off trickle charge and test it in a week, am guessing I should disconnect it form the car as well and test next weekend.

Yes - it was 13.1 this morning after a night on trickle, but was only 12.5 when first tested the morning after it was fitted.

I will disconnect it now, take a reading and compare next weekend.

I’ll give you £60 delivered if you want to cancel the listing. I need loads for our stock.

Very likely this from my experience. MSP, Suspension, ABS and EPB. If EML and gearbox lights are off, then a wheel sensor 9/10. They go on cars seldom used.

Thanks dicky, mine is used most weeks and I did LeMans this year although for one reason or another it sat for 3 weeks over Christmas / New Year.
Anyway I will double check the battery and if thats not the problem it will be for Matt to sort.
