Believe me, you can come across some ropey cars - even well within warranty!
It took me a couple of cars before I settled on the one I did....which I bought fundamentally on the fact that it's condition was better than some brand new cars that I've taken delivery of (once the dealer has done their PDI and valet they can give even a brand new car a fair few swirl marks from careless washing / drying). Mine came with a car cover, battery conditioner, receipts for 2 annual Swissvax details by Maranello (the paint is incredible) and just 7k miles so it was clearly someones garage queen!
I remember a couple of years ago going to see an Aston V8 Vantage and, at 2 years old it looked like it had been washed with a brillo pad - I didn't like the car but even if I did, it was in unbelievably bad nick for a newish and very expensive car...some people just don't look after them. Crazy!
