I'd probably recommend a protector to go on top, something like gtechnic L1 as you would have stripped all the UV protective qualities. I did the same with my e36 wheel and it was shinier by the end of the summer. Cleaned it down again and applied a protector and now it's stayed much the same, the protector keeps it matt but also protected from the oils etc from your skin.
