Hi All,

Below is a link to a powerpoint presentation that I put together for the replacing of the heater matrix on a 3200gt

I had to replace mine due to it leaking.

As some may remember I had an issue of the internal side of my windscreen misting up with condensation. I had explored the pollen/air filter area which had been highlighted as an area which can get filled up with leafs and water but this area was clear. As was the air con pipe which exhausts near to the drivers side foot well.

I had been passed a post from another forum site (US) in which a gentlemen in France had a similar problem and posted the heater matrix had leaked.

I explored and yes this leaking matrix was also the cause of my condensation...

The link to the powerpoint slides gives a good insight to replacing the matrix but if there is any queries please PM me and I would be very happy to help out

Truly impressive Paul. Thanks for taking the time to document the work and put the procedure together.

Am I right in thinking the matrix is common to both the 3200 and 4200?

Great Presentation, and the pictures really help explain the work involved. The fan on my 3200 is noisy at high spee, from your experience would I need to remove the unit to lubricate or change the fan unit.

Yes, I believe it is.

I viewed a powerpoint presentation before starting mine and it showed the internal dashboard of a 4200.

PM you email addres and I can look for it and send on to you

Hi Rex,

Not 100% on how to lubricate the fan within the unit but you would need to go through all that i did just to get to it in the first place, unfortunately! The fan unit itself sits at the top of the heater unit so you may not need to disconnect the water pipes etc.

I think we already have that one in the How to section, worth a check, but if you can improve on it, please do.

Is Paul's PowerPoint referred to at the start of the thread still on here? I have found some old links do not work, and it seems to be have been an issue since the change of server(?) earlier in the year. May just be coincidence.
