Heated Seat Keeps Turning On Even with Switch Off

The drivers seat heater keeps turning on, despite the switch being in the off position, not ideal in 80 degree heat!

Just wondering if anyone else has suffered a similar fault?

Any help appreciated before I combust!!

Thanks

Matt

Yes regularly pranked by the kids with that one! Feels like you have soilled yourself! Nasty things & not needed IMHO

How do the kids turn the seat on while leaving the switch off? ;)

I *think* I get something similar. Certainly during the winter I've felt decidedly warm of trouser with the switch and the indicator off.

Believe it or not this is caused by the roof!

When the car is wet and the drivers window is open water runs off the roof as it has no gutters. The water runs down on the switches and fuses them, you need a new button my friend.

This happened on the 4200 spider I had but the forward movement. Driving down the road the seat would move all the way forward, bloody scary.

David Askew supplied used button for a tenner, sorted!

Ok that was a 4200 but I feel you have a similar issue.

Matt, the GT doesn't have a button for the seat, but a dial. However your logic makes sense!

Never been a fan of heated seats but the cooled seats in the RR are awesome during these hot spells

Thanks for the replies.

I washed the car last night and the switch does get some water on it when the door opens, so that looks like a good shout.

Any ideas if it's a generic Alfa/Fiat switch or if it is particular to the Maserati- hate paying double for a Maserati label.

You will have to have a search round the Italian cousins, I find Google images a good starting point but check out the Germans too, lost of the Electrics like seat motors are Porsche and other Bosch/BMW/Merc.

Sorry cant help more than that but may Strad does not have any electrics on the seats.

Happened to mine last year. Had to replace the dial but it was money well spent last summer. The car is hot enough with black leather seats without adding a heated seat. Mine drove me mad as if you tried to move the dial it went through all the different settings before finally ending up at 0. It was getting so distracting I feared an accident was on the cards so had it replaced at Emblem.

Was the dash display indicating the seat heater was off, though?

Thanks All... spoke to Simon Furlonger who supplied the car this afternoon about a couple of items they are sorting under warranty. When chatting I mentioned the switch and they said not to worry, they would check it out when the car goes in.

Didn't really expect them to sort it under warranty as usually switches etc aren't covered, but so far they've been a pretty decent bunch so fingers crossed.

The dash display indicated the seat heater was on. In fact it couldn't decide which setting it was on....1...2...3...1...2...0 Hence my annoyance with it and needing it fixed.

Mine does this now & again too but mostly in the winter luckily. I think it's linked to the fan blower. Not done it recently so I will leave until next service.
