Heated door mirrors 2002 4200cc

Does anyone have any thoughts why my drivers door mirror doesn't heat up when the passenger side one does? Both mirrors adjust and fold OK so it can't be a fuse.
Any idea how I can take the mirror glass out of the casing so I can check to see if any power is getting there?

Thanks!

Wierd this David just sent you a pm , re the mirror , there are 3 screws underneath the mirror which allows the inner workings to pull forward , but obviously the connections are yes you guessed it inside the door card so if its not accessible to change swap things over the bits that are required to fix , then door card will have to come off.

Thanks for the quick replies guys!
I hope I don;t have to remove the door card, but at least I've got the know how if I need to, now.
Under the mirror casing, I can see two screws and a black plastic tab that doesn't seem to want to do much other than turn round. Looking at eurospares page, it almost looks as though this is attached to the mirror glass for it to pivot on; does this just push back into the casing do you know?

Cant say one way or other sorry David , i had to replace one once on my 4200 and thought the easy way was to just undo those screws but NO the whole doorcard had to come off so thats what i did , i had a whole wing mirror to swap over so wasn't to concerned with the inner workings

I have removed the glass a couple of time on mine, [4200].

Using a wide flat lever, I use a piece of ply wood about 3mm thick, 4" wide under the bottom of the mirror, gently leaver out the class until you feel it click off the holding circle. One loose you can pull free. It is held on by a circle with 4 lugs that clip to a holder of similar designe which forms the frme of the adjusting motor system.

The heated elemets are on the back of the mirror and coonected by electrical spades...it may be one of these has come loose or is not connecting well.

To re fit you just push the class back onto the frame.

Mine has been off at least 4 times to fix problems with the motors.

I didn't even know that my 2004 GT had heated wing mirrors???? I knew they dipped and folded in but not heated.

I'm sure I'd have noticed this when we had all the snow!

Perhaps mine are knackered?!
