I expect quite a few of you have seen Harry's Garage on you tube, what I didn't know was that his background is in agriculture, and he has just started a new you tube channel 'Harry's Farm' not a lot of interest to most of you I expect, but what i also found out from watching it, is that he also founded 'EVO' Magazine.

Indeed. I enjoyed reading Harry’s stuff in Evo long before Harry’s garage, he mentioned his farm back then. Evo was much better in those days (and yes, it was fields as far as the eye could see back then too)...

Met him at Goodwood hotel when they were launching a new Jag... fortunately he was far friendlier than the Jag press team who asked me to leave dispite it being a public place!!!
Harry posted a pick of his Lambo and my GS together on his you tube site.

He did a nice review of the Granturismo a few years ago. I like his championing of the underdogs - Lancia, Evora, lesser loved Lambos, noisy thumper motorbikes etc. His recent Lotus Evija piece made me ache for my old Elan. My kids much prefer his videos to Jay Leno. He also wears Persols - every well appointed glove box should have a pair.

I have always liked Harry's reviews and opinions. He has a pretty down to earth opinion surprisingly in the main. I'm a fan of many of the Evo writers over time for their opinions and views.

I like Richard Meaden, Henry Catchpole, Jethro Bovingdon, Chris Harris, Nick Trott, David Vivien and John Barker.

Not a great fan of Richard Porter.

It’s interesting how people’s views differ. I like all of them (including Porter) but didn’t like Trott.

Had a long chat with Jethro’s Dad at the EB car show a couple of months ago, he was there with his Citroen SM and his other son with a mental Camero.

Nice chap - I met him at the Monaco Superyacht Show. And he liked my Shamal when he reviewed that on Harry’s Garage.

I had a few emails back and forth with Trott and he seemed decent but didn't meet him. Met a few of them on a Jaguar/EVO launch day at Millbrook which was cracking day.

If I recall the money to start Evo came from a loan to rebuild some farm buildings or something like that. He just diverted the funds a tad..
I'm still waiting for him to restore his classic range rover. He shows it in one or two of the RR reviews he does.

He also had (has) M4SER number plate, which he put on on his GT 4.2 and subsequent 4.7 GTS MC shift, which he published a very positive video review on. The last I saw on the subject was his comment that his wife kept using it every day to stop him selling it. I haven’t seen it in his garage so I guess she lost....

first heard of Harry when he wrote for Performance Car back when he had a Ghibli. He used to write the owners review. Performance Car went under and Ge then started EVO with most of the Performance car writers. A true car nut and Maserati fan. He left EVO and become a consultant for Jaguars SVO operations and had a big hand in the Jaguar Project 7.

Love his videos of his adventures.
He truly has a passion in what he does.
Certainly a person I would like to meet and he ain't half good on a Enduro bike too.

Agree but I would add Henry Catchpole
I had to Google this guy. The name was vaguely familiar.
Watched the 2018 video he did about his Escort rally car.
Was left wondering which public school he went to. Couldn't find that, but did discover
that he went to St. Andrews. That made me laugh. (No offence to anyone here who went
to St Andrews. I happen to like the place. A lot. But it does actively seek those students
who have 'the right accent'.)
There's something that strikes me as very odd about this guy.
Its as if he's been obsessively watching car reviews all of his life and instead of polishing his
own presenting style, has become a kaleidoscope of all of the upper middle class male
presenters around his own age. Dan Snow, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and so on.
I'd rather watch someone who's had a career or two and then fallen into television based on
their own, very individual style.
(Clarkson, Michael Parkinson, Keith Floyd)
Not sought to make television presenting their career from the outset and an end in itself.
Apologies. Its clearly long past time for my 'happy' tablets.

LOL...not a fan then?! I like Henry very much....not in that way! He is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable also not a pompous ***.

I'd love to sit down over a beer with many of them. Many automotive journalist's seem pretty normal down to earth guys. They clearly do it for the love of the cars and many aren't silly rich from it although some are more comfortable than others. I don't think many ever did it for the money or do so know. It is nice to see that these days.

He gets on my pip as well......not a fan.
