Looks like it’s sold already.
Didn’t take long, didn’t even get the description up, or the price. Not surprising really.

Only just seen this (not keeping up at the back..)

Absolutely brilliant review, a few observations I thought I'd share:

  • No berating of the centre console layout I thought was quite refreshing
  • The comment about the over sensitive parking sensors got me chuckling
  • Interesting comment re: QP6 design appealing to the Chinese market...
  • Titanex/carbon fibre on the steering wheel AND dashboard gauge pods, nice!
  • I didn't know what that button did that lowers the middle headrest (shame on me)
  • I've not taken my car to the rev limiter (didn't know it had one), but I will now...
  • A demonstration of the car's launch control would have been perfect (and I'll continue to be a lemming and not try it on mine on account of preserving engine mounts and my gearbox...)

Incidentally did anyone here buy the car?

I cant believe it’s still for sale. Strange market as you say where thousands of people will pay a £2k deposit and £400/month for 3 years which is over £16k, for a humdrum modern box, but not buy something like this which will still be a Maserati on your drive 3 years later?

Worlds gone mad I tell you!
That is exactly my rationale, but then again I am on the bones of my ****. Bought in in 2014 for 18k so if it is now worth nothing I am happy with the depereciation.
I could have walked away from a leased <insert generic sporty saloon> car with the same size hole in my pocket. I now look back over may shoulder at a the QP instead of an empty parking space.

The car market can be odd. Nobody wanted 964s, even the RS was cheap to buy. Now they're revered.
It's an odd time for the market, but time may look favourably on the QP5 and Granturismo. There are about as many QPs and Granturismo put together as there were 964s!
(Ps.Before Maserati, I was a serial Porsche owner, 964, 993 GT3 etc).
I used to be in the flat six tribe, so understand the 964 3.8 RS premium. The cooking 964 was always the "neighbour with herpes" at the school disco, only ever seen with a drunk ginger kid who just moved to our neighbourhood. The 964 RS was always a good car, but well used models were less than 30k when I bought a 911 on 2001.

Love that but look at the price......mental compared to UK. Double plus.
Lol the new price is apparently 315k-330k, don't know what they are smoking. Must be a huge LCT. I would think getting a 2016-2019 one, holding it for 12 months/living in the uk and bringing it to Aus would potentially be worth it. I think there is a 12 month rule, you can bring any car with you if you own it 12 months outside of Aus. Not sure of the taxes but potentially a nice profit with the right car.

https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/de...attroporte-gts-auto-my16/SSE-AD-6560651/?Cr=2 Lol a similar spec/miles to my QP6 GTS is $180k in Aus. Nice market arbitrage from UK to Aus if you have a rhd nice spec one 2015/2016 or newer.
Yes, it might be more efficient and have more toys, and mentally fast, but I’d still rather a QP5 GTS. Pininfarina styling, naturally aspirated V8, and individualistic looks. Nothing quite looks like a QPV. Can’t say the same with the QPVI.

The QP6 is still Pininfarina styled. It was designed by Lorenzo Ramaciotti who is a Italian car designer who worked in Pininfarinia from 1972-2005. He then became group chief designer at FCA. The 5 was great with a nice engine note, but I think the 6 has many nice things too. The 488 engine sounds great for a turbo engine and gives the car a different performance level. Its also 100kgs lighter than the 5. I like the looks of the 6 as well, its not perfect but its beautiful and quite aggressive from the front. Nice side profile with a wide rear quarter panel and great lines from the back to the front on the side profile of the car. The rear diffuser profile/ trap exhaust's are a nice touch too. 21 titanos really finish this car off nicely with a aggressive stance.

Nope. I beleive IanU hit the rev limit for the first on his QP GTS using launch control at Imola.

And then apologised for makings so much noise and fuss and promised not to be so inconsiderate in future

I think it’s called MC Start Strategy or something. Devonboy has a screenshot of the handbook excerpt that accompanies the QPV GTS models which details how this is done...

this is true - it’s in the supplemental handbook for the GTS - never tried it....

Just to bust those myths....as far as can tell it’s looks like dumping the clutch at 3000rpm with no traction control - will evaluate this weekend
