I was told the price of the 964, though not by Hairpin. 7 figures, apparently...
The car market can be odd. Nobody wanted 964s, even the RS was cheap to buy. Now they're revered.
It's an odd time for the market, but time may look favourably on the QP5 and Granturismo. There are about as many QPs and Granturismo put together as there were 964s!
(Ps.Before Maserati, I was a serial Porsche owner, 964, 993 GT3 etc).

Silverstone 2009 with a friend of mine who had a fine collection of cars sadly now deceased in a road accident in France.
We had all the Italian Exotica pulling over for us.
The only car quicker was a trick Skyline.FB_IMG_1573991329105.jpg

That is a very, very special 964 (the 3.8 RS), though, with the correct provenance.

Problem I have with the hardcore 911s of that ilk is that they’re now so valuable, even if you are a billionaire, at what point do you start to get second thoughts on a track day, even if you book it out yourself? The chaps at Car Iconics have a track-prepped 964/993 hybrid; that’s pushing 450bhp yet weighs 1000kg and though not cheap, would be no more than 10 per cent of the price of that 964RS 3.8... I’d feel much more at ease spanking something like that.

Didn't look at the advert, just a general comment about 964s of all variants. I know all the special flavours;-)

Always wanted a 968 Club Sport in that colour.
Not the same shade, but have you seen this?

Remember you saying that before Ewan. I believe when someone off here went to see it last time they had it for sale they wouldn't budge a penny on price.

Just put it up £1K on the back of Harry's video.
It's a lovely car just too much Brown, to me the Black one is how a GTS should be, that interior is sublime. Definitely the best GTS to hit the market for a while, sadly it will be just outside my budget.

Look at 911UK forum - this dealer had been highlighted as a rogue by a guy buying an air cooled Porsche. Long thread about this dealer Specialst Cars of Malton.

Here is the link to the thread.

One to stay well away from.

Well that's a shock as always thought these were a respected Porsche specialist. They have been around for years.

No correlation with scruples. This thread on Specialist Cars of Malton is an eye-opener. Caveat emptor. Check out 911UK for more threads on dodgy Porsche Specialists. You'll find me there as Cheshire911. Lots of **** posts though from self-proclaimed Porsche experts based seemingly on pub room chats with friend of a friend examples but some good posts from current and former Porsche mechanics. Alarming jumber of posts from guys who had their pants taken down and bent over the kitchen table with scored bores and £12k rebuilds on cars hardly worth £15k. These are the guys who get into the bottom-end of the market yet demonstrate despair and disappointment when the inevitable (in Baz Harts words) happens. Another eye-opener.....

Just watched the 3rd installment of the engine build on Harry's Espada.
Really interesting but going to be a Big Bill coming.
Nice way to earn a living though.

Dicky - can you share details of the GS you are getting in for sale?
I’m actively looking for a GS (my first Maser)!

I am sorry it’s already sold. I’ll let you know should another one come along. Thanks for asking.

They dont stay long with you Richard. The GranSport is just so much in demand - well nice well sorted low(er) mileage examples with good service history are, despite commentary on prices etc.
