Not sure appearing in one episode of The Grand Tour qualified it to go down in “automotive history” but it does look like a nice project for someone.
It will have suffered significant abuse in the making of that show though!

That's an interesting project and French LHD but what a nightmare that would be to get back into France if the carte grise has not been dealt with properly and no control technique.

It was wrecked. Also got launched into water if memory serves me correctly.

I tried to buy it before Clarkson got hold of it. It had loads of work done to it as well.
Was in very good condition.

A bit of Googling says it fell off the back of the recovery truck and was wrecked.

Yes, this is what happened. It was caught on film. The joke was he was racing to the ferry and it fell off the back without him noticing.
