GTS exhaust on GT

That is a good value car IMHO.

If you fit the MC Sportline exhaust to the car (which that could be) then it is meant to sound very similar to the GTS in sport. The only issue with such a retrofit is that the exhaust valves are permanently open. I feel that after a few months that would annoy.

It's a nice car, sounds amazing but I think it's had 6 owners, hence the price.

Also that car should have had two services so that would need to be checked along with the condition of the brakes. On the latter point, there was a post on maseratilife from a Canadian owner who replaced his brake pads on his 4.2 at 60k miles and found that the he did not need new discs. Amazing!

Thanks for popping in Dicky as that is really useful.

What's the lowest trade you have seen on a GTS Auto? The reason I ask is that the early cars have just gone through three years old so there should be some action.

The cheapest GTS I've seen had 46000 miles and went for £46000. There's a few around at £50000, but as you know, you need to be careful, brakes and a clutch(if it's an MC Shift) is £5000, add some prep and a set of tyres, another £2000! They're really difficult to figure out at the moment and prices are all over the place.

Residuals on the GTS (Auto) are very strong then.

It is hard to compare the two 4.7 engined cars as the MC Shift was launched eight months before the auto, tends to have lower average mileage than the auto and costs about £6k more spec for spec. I always expected the auto to be worth less used but I wonder how it is if one adjusts for miles and list price?

Wow six in less than 30k miles!!! Do you still end up with another owner if you put the car onto a personalised plate?

If it is done correctly it should not.

When I bought my 4200 at four years old I was the sixth owner. One of those was due to it being a dealer demo but thereafter it was the usual six months change of owner stuff.

Had the same with my 4200 at 5 years old, but the good thing was they paid to have everything put right so my 3 years were problem free...in fact so much so I am still wonderin about buying it back as its only done 1.5k more over the last year and is for sale at £12.750 at a small garage up in the midlands...I bet it will sell for a couple of k less...would be able to buy a old 996 [911] soft top for every day at abot £11k, so thats two sporty numbers for less than a GS.

Tell me someone please. the GTS was supposed to make about 10bhp more, then the GT, that right? If so, the GTS, i have read, had Manifold, and valve improvement, as well as a more direct run exhaust, with large outlets. All that, would sure, add more, then the quoted 10bhp, surely. Exhaust, must be worth it alone.

GTS is quoted as 35PS more than the GT (440 vs 405). Nothing is said of the effect that opening the valves in the exhaust has but road tests have stated that the last 10PS comes from that; ie GTS in Normal or Ice mode is 430PS but in Sport mode is 440PS.

It is all irrelevant mind as most people feel that the GTS gives about 470PS in reality but was downrated on paper so as to save the California from embarrassment.

How is Alonzo going to do later today?

Not really into F1. I much prefer 'grassroot' motorsport.
F1 is just a circus, with Bernie, as the ringmaster, sucking the millions up, that the middle east countries pay him.
Tracks that are boring, mostly, too hot, tedious for weekend motorsport. None of the teams like it.
Have you seen the cost to watch a Fi live, say a family of 4? Stupid prices, and for me, money ill spent. Can go on holiday for less!!
Now Alonso. Bet he don't finish!!

This car has been for sale for a while.......Not sure if it has changed dealers as I'm sure it was at a dealer closer to South Wales...could be wrong though.....AT the time I remember thinking it was cheap and had a GTS exhaust......I think it looks nice and got to be worth a look it you are in the market....
