The first thing you must do when resetting the service light is make sure your date and time is correct.

If you attempt to do it after the battery has been off and the clock has zeroed you will screw your binnacle and no longer be able to set the clock on the dash.

Be very careful!

There is no service light on my dash. I called Maserati and they said that based on their service records from the previous owner my next oil change is due in April 2020. Are you saying there is an oil service countdown that need to be reset with each oil change? I'm creating my own schedule for oil changes to this car that corresponds with the change of seasons here in Canada.
CatmanV2 was saying that not all scan tools will work to reset the computer.

The service indicator will relate to other service items as well as oil, so perhaps resetting it after just an oil change wouldn’t be ideal anyway. If you are doing regular changes (as I have also done) then leaving the service indicator to match the other items would be better.

This tool should do the trick.

I usually replace my engine oil in my cars at the start of every winter and summer season. I'll replace the oil in the GTS tomorrow and wait until April 2020 for the service light to come on. I'll think about buying the scan tool to clear the service light then. I hope I don't buy a 2017 ZO6 by then.... that would just break my heart.;)

Chap, I'd do it gratis, if you pay the airfare. I'm near London. UK :D

C

Well that's just great, what an inconvenience you created ....lol :D

I will look into the Scan Tool in Spring. My next endeavor is removing & Installing the water pump serpentine belt.

That's great, maybe in April 2020 you'll ship it to me for a borrow. I'll be the judge on how well it works. :)

I Drained 10-1/4 Liters of oil from the engine.

The engine took 9 - 3/4 Liters of oil to fill .

The drain plug looked clean.

Is it not recommended or good practice to replace the plug? Did you refill with the engine off?

It's good practice to replace the crush washer, not sure about the threaded plug. I would never start the engine with zero oil in it.... that's just common sense....

I drained 10-1/4 Liters. I just added in the remainder 1/4 Liter of oil into the engine and got the engine up to operational temperature. I let sit for almost 10 min and here is the results of 10 Liters in a 4.7Liter engine..62045

Same for me (in a 4.2) had to check it and top it up every day for a few days before it levelled off. No idea where it goes!

Replaced the serpentine belt 239616 & water pump stretch belt 214271.......The serpentine Compressor drive belt # 239616 & 239617 are different
sizes The belt 239617 is smaller and needs a bit more effort to install.
