GT Side Skirt Removal

Anyone done this on their Granturismo?

Mine are a bit chipped up underneath and want to take them off to do a proper job rather than fumbling about on the floor. Looking at the eurospares diagram, I see some fittings under the kick plate but not sure about the ones on either end. Is any of that a pain to get at?

7 screws underneath, 4 under the kick plate, 3 small screws joining the front of the sideskirt to the botton of the front wing, clips join the rear of the side skirt to the bottom of the quarter panel that just unclip when pulled on. The kick plate is an **** to get off. Stong double sided tape along the whole of the underside. The 3 screws joining the front of the skirt to the bottom of the wing are a pita to get to. But the front 2 are accessed by removing a portion of the wheel housing cover, the 3rd is accessed by opening the door wide and getting on the screw head in the gap between the door and wing.

Thanks for biting the bullet! Not sure if I would do that job, that adhesive tape sounds a PITA.

Yes it is, not just a thin bit of tape, but the width of the kick plate for the whole length!

These skirts are pretty rough underneath (normal I guess for a ~40000 miles), but there's also some scratches down to primer near the kick plate where feet have been dragged in and out. A bit of flaking lacquer at the front end too, so I'm just going to re-spray the whole lot. Have already got a litre of colour matched paint made up.

Also, with the side of the car up in the air I noticed a small dent in the lower portion of the door (just below the lower crease), which has cracked the paint, like its been opened onto the corner of a low brick wall. Didn't even notice it when viewing the car and I was down on my knees all around it. I'm going to spray up to that crease so it blends on the crease. Its so low down you won't see a thing, but its got to be done now I know its there. I'll probably do some photos along the way for posterity.
