Hi guys,
Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for a sagging headlining fix? Neither my wife and I are tall but I had a somewhat taller mate in the car the other day and the headlining was sitting on his head!
I honestly hadn’t noticed it before but once pointed out to me (mate said: I though only old English cars had this problem) I now notice it hanging down off of the roof and off the C pillars every time I get in the car. Grateful for any suggestions or advice you might have.

Can be redone depending on the material.

To do it properly you have to sand off all the old inner padding and glue and put a new one.

I'm sure Matt can suggest something, but AIUI it's the foam that degenerates so the only way to fix properly is remove it, clean it all off and re-glue.

Apparently some have had success by using a hypodermic to inject glue underneath

Replaced all 7 parts (headliner + a,b,c pillars) with OEM parts at the Maserati dealer in Paris in July 2020....2400 euros all in.

Had a quote to re-do the original parts from a reputable shop at 2000 euros.

Precisely this thing happened with my previous 2002 XK8... there we called it 'Jag sag', I didn't think Italians had the same proclivity for saggy-ness...

Used to be a big problem on Range Rovers but a good trim shop can usually do a cost effective job for a good price.
Modern environmentally glues are rubbish.
Took me a day to get 46 year old glued on side mouldings of my Renault 16 TX.
They didn't want to come off.
You can see why restoration work can cost so much to be fair.

Thank you for your comments guys. Looks like I will need to find a good trim shop to get this repaired properly.

Just had the same thing happen. Noticed it last weekend and now everytime i get in i see it sagging haha. Never noticed it before. I might consider getting every part done with something new.

I wonder if this problem is linked to the leaking boot issue some suffer.

My old GTS used to mist / fog up terribly over the winter, that was eventually tracked down to a leak in the boot and fixed by Sportsitalia.

Although I did not have a sagging headliner or any sign of damage, I always worried that the moisture would not have been doing the interior any favours.

Done mine with these guys as I understand that the parts for QPV are not available any more. I was quite happy with the craftmanship and price.
