GT Front Seat RESET

If you find that your front seats behave irrationally or do not move fully forward when using the seat back tilt, then you need to reset them.

With the ignition to off open the door on the affected side and very quickly press the seat forward, then back, then forward, then back, then tilt the seat back forward.

This procedure must be started within 5 seconds of opening the door and be completed within 10 seconds.

If you have correctly completed the reset, the seat will move fully forward, then fully back, then fully forward again, then fully back.

At this point, return the seat back to its normal upright position and set the position of the seat for use.

The process is now complete.

A perfectly timed post... thank you!

What a strange issue to occur often enough that a reset process has been built into the seat.

I know Adam. I have had mine 6 months now and it's been on the list of things to do. Finally got round to it and published it for the benefit of others.

Mine has been pretty static and when the reset finally kicked in I had a puff of smoke out of the seat back/hinge.

I did it a couple more times to make sure my car was not about to go up, but it was fine, just dust in the motor I think.

Him, went and picked some friends up an hour after what I thought was a successful reset. Tilt the seat forward,Ives forward and inch them back again :-(

Hi,

Any luck with this? The GTS I'm due to collect on Friday has exactly the same problem. It's in at a main dealer for final prep at the moment so I'll also check with them what the fix is and let you know.

Cheers,
Adam

If it helps, Maserati seats do react badly to being left folded forward for any meaningful period of time.

I reset it again this morning and it seems to have worked.

I think you must not stop the seat from it full movement by flopping the seat returning the seat back until it has complete its full travel or it gets confussed.

I often feel that when the kids move the seat back when the base is still moving.

Good advice, that makes sense - thanks.

(A car which doesn't like to be interrupted... sounds like I may as well have married one!)

And this is why I love this forum! My driver’s seat didn’t want to automatically move forwards when tilted forwards for rear seat access. I checked all the fuses and connection and started to think it was the motor. Checked on here, found this thread, followed the instructions and bingo driver’s seat now functioning correctly again!!! Thank you sportsmaserati!!!
