I find this so depressing. Not because of the financial implication of owning one - who cares really - but because it reveals the symptoms of our society. Nobody wants to buy a proper v8 car unless it’s an overpriced Ferrari, Lamborghini etc... i mean check the price of a Ferrari Mondial or 348... and tell me a 4.7GT is worth 1/2 that???
The new generations don’t even care for cars anymore... depressing!
How low will GTs go?!!

Depressing but not a new thing.... look at the scalping you get if you buy a new QP or Ghibli........jesus wept!
The old cars are probably holding up better than the new ones.

Just to add some perspective, some other cars that seem to have dropped a bit recently include the V8 Vantage and the BMW i8.
I expect if I looked across most models there'd be a softening of values.

Back to the GTS in the advert, we don't know whether or not this is a good example, sometimes if it seems too good to be true...

It's been online for a while. Mc shifts going for under 30k a fair bit from what I've seen recently. Then again we buy any car will offer 18k for a gts

The I8s are ludicrous. A friend just picked up one for 61,000 with 200 miles on it. List price 109. That’s serious depreciation. No idea why everyone doesn’t own a 458 now. Holds its value and free servicing

With a ticket of £150k+ - which is clearly not in the realm of possibility for “everyone” - I assume that snotty comment was aimed at telling people how bullet proof the 458 were depreciation wise?

On the same token, a Porsche GT at £650k is also a great and safe one to park your cash in.... not sure why everybody doesn’t buy one lol

Have you driven one (i8)? They're pretty good, but I think you have to look at them in the right context.
Supercar...no (and was never intended to be).
Sporting and exotic looking daily...yes.

I've considered one as a daily. If you have other cars that deliver Supercar thrills etc., then I think it can slot in quite nicely.

Quite a few people with McClaren, Ferrari and Lotus love to run the i8 alongside.

Indeed, £150k is not £60k. Especially if you don't do finance.
I do appreciate the point about residuals though, but not sure how well that stands up as miles stack up (I'd want to drive it!)

55% isn't so bad, surely?

Depending on your mileage it could last year's.

Cars always need something.

Looks crazily cheap.
