Some of you may remember I helped a chap import a black GranSport Spyder for the US after he fell in love with my red one. I'd just taken a deposit on it and refused his offer of more money to sell it to him.

Anyway he just sent me a video of himself driving it over the Grimsel Pass in Switzerland where he also has a house.

Hope everyone is well and keeping safe!

It’s crying out for a aiiiitchhh Pipe!
reckon i'd be crying out for a new windpipe after roof down in what looks to be arctic temperature. GS Spyder is magnificent for cruising on a fine sunny day...but through snow and fog?

The best convertible runs are always those cold but dry early mornings or late evenings where all there is, is an open road, loads of sky and the sound of a howling V8

It was a lovely car, I find myself looking at them again when one comes up for sale.... but lots of other things too sort out like the Bora, garaging here in Wales, oh and finishing renovating this daft house we bought! All going to take a little longer now but that will be the same for most people.

I did the Grimsel pass when I was over at the 3200 gathering in Baden Baden, and the roads and scenery around the alps there is truly wonderful, thanks for posting, makes me hanker for another road trip.

Nice road, nice car! I'm totally with the guy in that the roof down, so long as it's not raining. Cold - pah, heated seats, warm air and gloves if you need it.
Good to hear from you Robin.

It had that badge on when it arrived from the US and I DID try and get him to remove it.................

Remove the GTS badge? Haven't you heard, it's a worldwide one of a kind Limited Edition GranSport GTS! Yes, yes, yes, you're quite right, I do (still) need to remove that, just worried that I'll damage the paint when I do. It'll be like tying a piece of string from a tooth with a cavity to a door knob and slamming the door. I'll man up some day, for sure ... perhaps.

If you're really bored, I've posted another video. This time of a Winter Detail because, um, err, the timing was right for it (?!) and I'm stuck at home with not a great deal else to do:

I’ve done the Grimsel pass a couple of times in my spyder and I can heartily recommend it. It has to be done with the roof down, in any weather, at high speed, and in a car with little or no silencing. Having said that, the next time I do it will be in the TT; no silencing, loads of power and fantastic grip and handling, what could possibly go wrong?! :D

Absolutely brilliant; f*ck all power going up but gravity is a massive help on the way down. Plus, it was a left hooker with Italian plates, so I drove like an Italian; that means there was always a hole to fit into if an overtake went wrong due to lack of power! Trust me, it‘s a bucket list item, do it and tell me I’m wrong. :D
