GS HEATER CONTROL LAMP REPLACEMENT

I've noticed that the right hand heater control dial on my GS doesn't light up. The other two are fine. Is there a bulb that can be changed behind the dial, or as I expect form Maserati a new dashboard from the factory?

Id imagine if you split the unit, itl just be an LED in the unit that should be pretty easy to replace, but could be wrong

So where are the actual light sources? Are they leds, or as i suspect from a car of that age a bulb ?

From the pics it looks like a single bulb in the middle of each dial. Maybe its dirty/obscured on one side or its just failing and dim.

...Looking at it again, what are those plastic pipes?

Maybe these are the light source for the outer and their position would tally with dim on the outsides?

The light could be tranfered down the tubes from a light source . But would only come out of the very end . You need to frost the tubes for it to light all the way down because it needs something to refract off of. And the light source would have to be quite powerful . I've had those heater controls off recently and it did n't look like there was a bulb in the actual dial . I shall re-investigate .

Easy way to tell is if the dials are bright in the middle and not on the outsides, then the pipes are the light source.

If its dark on one side, one of the bulbs at the base a light pipe has failed.

I think (I’m not sure I remember correctly) the light source for the dials are 3 bulbs and you may be able to get at them from the three black circles at the top of the first photo, but you may also have to split the unit. Not 100% sure.

Hi @Oneball, I'm impressed how clean your controls are. Mine are much more difficult to read, one even having some black dots. Any advice to clean them?
