GS becker systems

If you have a Gransport it is a Becker 7800 Online Pro + Becker Silverstone 7860 CD Changer (in the boot left side - if fitted).
If this is yours and you are not familiar with the system, there are a couple of things worth knowing.
You are probably aware that there is an SD card slot under the removable face unit (lower left). This can be used for playing mp3 files but 1. It is limited to 2GB 'standard' (the old blue Sandisk type) SD cards and 2. You have to be a bit careful editing the file tags (see Infotainment manual) and 3. The system tends to turn itself off at random for some unknown reason (just power off and on again to fix - annoyingly it goes back to the last 'bookmark' which is usually where it powered on at the beginning of the journey...). I got the Becker unit replaced in my Gransport under warranty due to this but the new unit behaves in exactly the same way - seems it is a 'bug'.
Despite the aforementioned bug, the Becker system is quite good quality and provides very acceptable music reproduction but the technology is a bit old-school - clearly there is no connection for iPod, etc., and who uses CDs these days?

The Blaupunkt NAV56E would be a good replacement, cheap on ebay now.
Colour screen sat navigation, blutooth, with the add on module also mobile phone.
I've had two complete systems, adding the external oled display for easier mp3 playback with usb stick and listing phone contacts.
Still have one complete system in the Stag.
