Time to get off the fence and decide whether to hide in the garage over winter...

I have decided to avoid the motorways this winter but I'll give her a smoke around town once a month to keep the electrics and mechanicals happy.

I do have a pretty long winter layup to do list for the car so I best get cracking on it before we get any "beasts from the East"

The winter tyres are about to go on to my GC-MC, so in the unlikely event I want/need to use it ever during the cold weather, at least it’ll grip, turn and stop as intended.

Best option, I have three of the cars getting winters on in the next week incl the Maser. I will use it more than you but still a lot less than in the summer.

It's a bit frosty today first thing but due to improve round these 'ere parts. Mine'll be staying on the road until Christmas and then SORN'd and stored until the weather is better and all the salt has been washed away.

Im inclined to park up on axle stands and start with the list of jobs needed. An MOT in the middle of winter is a pain the bee-hind tbh. I'd like to get away from that so I can SORN the car and save myself bread. But a car without an MOT cant be re-taxed, and I cant get it to the MOT station without using the public highway...!
Carry on regardless I s'pose. Im not up fror winter road salt . I dont run any of my bikes on the road except my MX'er in winter...which is why I have one ! But to leave a 4200 idle might be asking for trouble..Still. My ultimate plan would be to lay it up...
Despite many claims it's a bad move, I notice alot of you guys winterize anyway !?

as long as the motor is insured you are allowed to drive to a BOOKED mot appointment without any tax

Sorn on my GS until spring as of last week. Driving a high powered rwd car on summer tyres is asking for trouble in the colder weather and I wouldn't use it enough to make switching tyres worthwhile.
