Funny you should mention the 156 GTA, just read the evo mag buying guide on both, a year ago i would have took the 147 in a heartbeat but now i am unsure, i love the 156 in red, saw an estate verison today finished in blue when walking to college, it looked and sounded mint.

I wouldn't want a modded one, 250 bhp standard it plenty with front wheel drive plus the V6 sounds great anyway, if i get my first car at 18, do you think i would get insured on GTA at 21/22? providing i will have about 3/4 years NCB.

Auto Delta are a well respected tuner and have done some great things to Alfas, but yes understand as insurance will be high enough without mods.

but i think a 147 has to be red, it pains me that i cant have that car right now, also IMO the saloon doesn't look in proportion from the rear 3/4 view i dont think whereas the Sportswagon looks like a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Here is Autodelta servicing costs, not too much to run.

The 147 also looks more up to date than the 156...No matter what you go for you will not be dissapointed...I ahve driven a 156 GTA many moons ago and it was pretty quick.

Thats hard...As I have a family probably a 156 with some tasteful Auto Delt mods......No family the cheeky 147. You need to drive both me thinks.

Yeah, i agree, comfortable family car that is quick, i also love the GTA Alfa's as they are so rare, i dont think i had ever seen a 156 GTA on the road until today.

The one thing that lets them down are the seats...they look great but they are uncomfortable..I could never get confortable..I think it was the bit you sit on not being flat...

just asked my dad what he thinks of them he doesn't like them and says they are rubbish, big bills and drop to bits, but he is a boring sod who bums 911 Carrera S' because they are well made, have sat nav and are cheap to service, god he doesn't have any soul when it comes to cars, although he says he quite likes the Maser GT, and he also only likes the latest model of car as he thinks it is always better. Think it was mentioned already but Alfas are not the cheapest cars to service or for parts...But do your home work drive lots and you can get a good one.
