That's a bit spooky, I just received this email from a recruitment consultant 20 minutes ago .

Hi Patrick,

I am part of a consultancy that helps to build and globally scale some of the most exciting technology businesses. I came across your profile ...

We are working with a truly innovative materials science company who are at the forefront of delivering upon the capabilities of graphene. They have found a way to manufacture graphene in a scalable way, something that has never been done before...

I might reply to the geezer- it might be something interesting to do after I retire this month.

Weird when that happens isn’t it??

I’ve been chatting to my friend about it as he’s the RSCOO at the Uni and has been involved. It’s like a magical discovery for those such as me who are less scientifically aware.

Sounds like an investment project to keep an eye on. If it’s as good as they say it could go public .

Research has been going on into this for a good while. Manchester has a good Centre. Sadly when most people get wind of it the magic time to invest has passed... they just need more money now to pump prime more research.

They've made it into buildings already?! I need a drink ;)

C

The building is quite clever, clad in steel with holes in it, painted black. Remember the original Manchester Graphene research involved a roll of sellotape and a 2B pencil....I suspect it’s come on a bit since then!

Indeed lots of potential. I’m sat in the Brewdog over the road from the Graphene Building if you are in Manchester today?

I’m not Andrew sorry, I’m in Chester. Enjoy a pint of Punk IPA, cracking pint but does knock you about a bit.

Is this the stuff that is the strongest naturally occuring substance on earth? If so remember seeing a documentary years ago on it. Incredible stuff. Naturally occuring in a mollusk's little teeth isn't.it?

Its has a very high strength to weight ratio I think. Its basically just carbon but the atoms bonded in a different way to graphite or diamonds. I haven't got a chemical engineer to hand but one will be along shortly.
Please take a seat in reception.
