Hi folks can anybody help ? I've tried to play a CD but nothing happens. You can hear some whirring sounds but the unit doesn't recognise that a CD has been loaded. Also I've acquired some sat nav update discs. Do these discs load in the same unit or is there a separate unit somewhere ?
Any help gratefully recieved.

Standard pre recorded CD album or something created with ripped files?
Mine doesn't like certain 'modern ' formats. OK with mp3 I think
The nav discs if pukka load fine

Audio CD and Sat NV CD's all load through the only and same orifice lol.

CD unit (Liteon) is probably faulty if it doesn't recognize either an Audio CD or Sat Nav CD.

Thanks for the quick responses. I've tried several cd's including the genuine Maserati SatNav discs and there is no response with any of them. Sounds like it is a faulty head unit. Any recommendations for renew or repair options.
Thanks

Tried a cleaning cd with no success. Any recommendations for a repair service of the cd player unit ?

I would imagine Contigo might? Otherwise it's actually pretty simple so a half way adventurous / competent PC or car stereo repair place should be able to.

i have this as well, its a pain in the back side! I haven't tried an mp3 loaded disc yet though... i think there is a way to reset the unit on the back of the unit which ive yet to investigate and see if there is

If there isn't a way to reset the unit then i would suspect its a repair job or source another unit.

I'm not aware of a way to reset the unit. I took mine out and had a look in case some foreign body had managed to get in there but nothing obvious to see. I will look to see if there is a reset.
I'm thinking repair or replace.
There is one on Ebay for £800

Sent you a PM. The CD unit is made by Liteon and is a common automotive CD part. I've sent you a link to an Ebay listing with one which should work. I'm all out of CD-ROM spares...
