It's a bloody brilliant idea. Do it. There's a thread on here which I'll try to find. One sec.

Here you go.
God I had forgotten how good it looked.
I have the Aston bug too. Never thought I would.
It sounds like you have an itch- I would scratch it - you won’t regret it with a V12 vantage!

Met a V12 VS owner a couple of months ago at a show.
He had a rare manual. He said slower gearchange than sportshift but he wanted a traditional manual box. He wasnt looking for the fastest of changes. I would think residuals might favour the manual box in the long run but interesting to hear Adam's thoughts.
Driven the V12 S Sportshift and I was impressed. Not driven the manual though.
Would I have one before a GTS? Yes I would.
Aston experience for me has been light years ahead of Maserati. Main dealers will happily sell you 15 year old cars. Dealers matching Indie servicing prices. My last service was under £700 (last 4200 at an Indie with a couple of very minor issues was £1800) and because I travelled a distance they put me up for 3 nights at a country house hotel.
As Adam has done lose the secondary cats ( I went Bamford Rose as well) and put in straight throughs and I would say the noise is up there with the Strad. V12 screaming at 7k has me laughing out loud every time.
Bought a remote to manually open and close the valves if you have neighbours. I dont so they stay open apart from briefly close and open them to stop from seizing open.

The perfect move. It's definitely a step up. For me it's still the best shape on the road.

Thanks guys... tomorrow is going to be an expensive day by the looks of it!

Quite right, too! Have a listen to this: it's mine with the secondary cats removed. It was a greasy spring day so I was being a bit steady. In sport mode, the engine spins up to the red line with ferocious speed, and the rears have a habit of spinning up with it. It's a car that loves to be driven, but equally happy with the exhaust valves closed (this is a virtually a must-have: https://www.cccharger.co.uk/product-page/auto-memory-exhaust-remote-control-vantage) on a long run, stereo on.

The good news is that they're ok cost-wise to run. Fuel consumption averages just over 20 (but drinks it fast when you hoof it!) and servicing is far cheaper than Maser or Fezza, abeit it's an annual service. Plus, it's lots smaller than the GTS so far faster to wash, which I'm sure must equate to a fairly immediate saving. So says my man-maths calculator, anyway.

Ah, you purchased the man-maths calculator with the green earth option. I'd be interested to hear your review of that, it's fairly new tech. I heard they're bringing one out with a MeToo option, i'm not so sure that will catch on. How many baby turtles does the reduced use of water and soap suds save? :)

So man maths says the running cost and green credentials are all positive, just need to add the wife conversion table and lottery win option to get it over the line :)

Athol, I briefly tried the MeToo beta, but it refused to let me spec the car with a fanny magnet. I thought what would me mate Athol say? "Hoo the h3ll can ya pull the birds withoot a fanny magnet. Load ah shite, ya bawbag". So I just used the Green Earth module and it said that 200 cute baby turtles will be saved if I buy a V12 Aston. And that kind ah shite in itself is a veritable vaginal lodestone, ah'm thinking! Job done! Roll up, roll up, ladies!

Andy, bit of a screw up with the wife module. I forgot to use it, and consequently some domestic angst ensued. Still, I'm hopeful that my penis will grow back. Until it does, the seductive lure of my car's green credentials is sadly of sod all use.

There is definitely a market for a man maths calculator. Keep the purchase price low and make money from the ‘upgrades’. If it wasn’t for me borrowing Athol’s and Adam’s- I would still be in a 330i

My wife says she'll be shoving the nearest available man-maths calculator up your **** at the first available opportunity. She holds you personally responsible after we went out looking at new cars for you... and I ended up buying one first. Well done!

But I think she's starting to bond with the Vantage now.
