Hi all
Been lurking on here for a while, have now done the decent thing & signed up. About a year ago I bought a 2008 4.7 Granturismo S MC Shift, I'm afraid I did everything wrong, didn't do much research & ended up going back to buy the first one I saw after viewing a couple of sheds. Love it so much & what a noise!
57k miles, good amount of receipts & history, in nero carbonio with black leather & alcantara interior. The alcantara steering wheel rim was a bit manky so I've put a leather one on for now, and the sticky button issue has started to get a bit annoying in places.
As well as the steering wheel, so far I've had to replace 1 front & 1 rear parking sensor (the Skoda info on here saved me a bundle), fit 2 new rear springs as I found one had broken when it was being serviced, fit a new boot striker (I had a flat battery & the plastic manual release lever was snapped in half which I didn't realise until I needed it!) and replace the CD drive in the stereo. I've also replaced the vacuum tubing for the exhaust valves as it perished & the valves were staying open - which is obviously best - however sometimes I do need to keep the neighbours on side!
As you may deduce Lancia have always been my first automotive love, however after deciding to give up motorsport a couple of years ago I decided I'd treat myself to one of these & despite needing these jobs I'm very happy with it. Not sure the other half is!
Thanks all, look forward to everything.
Cheers,
Mike

Welcome, looks great, doesn’t sound like you’ve had too much bad luck other than a bit of fettling, is that an 8v in the garage?

Warm welcome @theoldsmithy!

Beautiful car and my ideal colour set-up! Well done on all the great little maintenance jobs you’ve done - hope she’s a real pleasure to drive and own after all that investment.

Thanks very much, she sure is. She's got right under my skin as I suppose all Italians do (imho, & even when they break down :) ). When I bought her I thought I wouldn't keep her long but that's not the case anymore!

Such fantastic brands both with wonderful heritage. I'm sure you'll have seen this before but what a fantastic photo, Lancia Flaminia GTs & covertibles with Maserati 3500GTs being built side-by-side at Carrozzeria Touring in Milan.

Welcome along and you're in good company as a few of us have been involved in Motorsport and some still out there doing it too.

Welcome to the fold, handy with the spanner’s by the looks of it, rear springs are no easy feet with that bottom bolt that strips the threads. Did you need to helicoil them?

Thanks, no I got away ok with them. Offside one came out a doddle, nearside not so much! A couple of threads stuck to the bolt but I think that's not too bad, it torqued up ok so I've left it as is. Fingers crossed!!
